The perfect Russian verbs refer to those actions that are complete, or of a single nature. For example- 'I wrote a letter (on completion)' is a perfect action, while 'I wrote a letter' is an imperfect action, because it does not denote completing the action. 

This page lists the most important perfect verbs. The table describes the phonetics, as well as the required conjugation pattern (This is indicated by the number 1 or 2). Remember that perfect verbs can not be used in the present.

However, the last twenty eight years Russians also celebrate Christmas. For Russian people holiday and fun does not happen much!

These days in Central Russia the summer does not make people happy: either a hurricane-force wind is, or it's raining hard, or the temperature drops as if it was not June, but real October;)

How to watch movies in Russian?
Many people trying to learn a foreign language say that the best way to practice listening skill is to watch movies in this language with subtitles in their own language.
This statement is just partly truly. The thing is that when you watch video in foreign language (in our case in Russian) and you add there subtitles in your language it will be a waste of time. Our brain always choose the easiest operations and instead improving your listening skills you will pay much more attention to reading the subtitles in your own language, because it is so easy work for your brain. So what to do then?
