Russian Idiom: to go through hell and high water

Идти́ в огóнь и в вóду: If you want to stress your commitment to a person, value or cause, then this is a good expression to use. The equivalent expression in American vernacular is "to go through hell and high water". I forget the author or book, but I recently read this expression in literature "мы за правду пойдём в огонь и в воду" (For truth, we will walk through fire and water.)
